Candidate Forum
Sunday, December 4th (4 p.m. - 6 p.m.)
Faith Center 8009 Long Point Rd.
Born and raised in District A, Houston City Council Member Brenda Stardig has worked alongside old friends and new neighbors to become an influential leader in Houston.
In addition to being a community leader in Houston District A, Council Member Stardig is an accomplished businesswoman. She worked in the financial industry 20 years prior to her successful transition to residential real estate broker. Over the years, Council Member Stardig has learned sign language and collaborates with the hearing impaired to foster awareness with the surrounding communities.
Council Member Stardig has a strong past in community involvement. She has worked her way through the ranks as a Civic Club President of 1,000 homes for 9 years, a Super Neighborhood President, and a Chamber of Commerce Director, and member of the Houston-Galveston Area Council's Transportation Policy Council. Council Member Stardig has received praise for her tireless efforts, including the Keep Houston Beautiful Mayor's Award Certificate of Recognition and the award for Leadership Excellence in Neighborhood Development from Bank of America. She is also a multiple award recipient of the Spring Branch ISD Good Neighbor Award for her involvement with the school district.
“We believe City Councilmember Brenda Stardig has proved her mettle in her first two-year term and deserves to be returned to represent this dynamic district.”
Over the years Stardig, a native of District A, has worked her way up...serving nine years as a civic club president and later as head of a superneighborhood. A licensed Realtor, Stardig has made appropriate residential development and land-use policies a priority. Among her noteworthy achievements: a much-needed clean-up of two apartment complexes that had fallen into disrepair and become havens for drug trafficking and other criminal activities…

“Stardig kept it “candidate classy,” and preferred talking about her record and accomplishments. And that’s exactly what the voters needed to hear.”
“Through being fiscally responsible with my 2011 office budget, I am able to give back to the entities that serve our citizens…”
District A councilmember Brenda Stardig announced Tuesday that she’d returned roughly $70,000 in unused budget funds to district parks, libraries and fire departments.
